5 plants I had on order arrived in the post today. This is the list of plants:

Today I bought myself a few plants..

• Ascofinetia Peaches ‘Kultana’
• Bulbophyllum putidum
• Bulbophyllum wendlandianum
• Dendrobium pulchellum
• Encyclia prismatocarpa
• Paphiopedilum Leeanum
• Stanhopea NOID

On Saturday the 13th,  I bought a few  flasks (of which the Microcoelia exilis and Cymbidium Australian Midnight were donated – thank you, Richard):

• Cymbidium Australian Midnight ‘Black Velvet’
• Cymbidium elegans
• Dendrobium spectabile
• Euchile mariae
• Microcoelia exilis
• Vanda testacea

On Tuesday the 23rd, I bought 2 new plants off the plant sales table at the March COS meeting:

• Dendrobium macrophyllum
• Epidendrum peperomia

and took 3 plants home from the raffle:

• Anacheilium baculus
• Dendrobium kingianum
• Miltonia Lanikai

Then on the 26th some plants I’d ordered arrived in the post:

• Bulbophyllum arfakianum
• Dendrobium peguanum
• Dendrobium purpureum
• Laelia rubescens
• Plectrelminthus caudatus

And on the 28th I got the following:

• Barbosella australis
• Dockrillia wassellii

Unfortunately no photos yet. Will update as soon as I’ve taken a few. I’d also bought a few Stapeliads from the Rare Plant Fair in Stellenbosch on the 27th, but that’ll be another post.

This was only going to contain flowering orchids, but I decided to add a couple others in that were “rescues” and are starting to grow new pseudobulbs, etc. Here’s the list, photos follow

• Dockrillia rigida (finally some new growth – haven’t seen anything happening in ages!)
• Bulbophyllum lobbii (again, finally some new growth.. it’s been a while since anything happened)

I’ve been so busy I forgot to post here about 3 new plants from about a month back. They are:

• Bulbophyllum barbigerum
• Bulbophyllum lobbii
• Eria densa

I received 3 new plants today from Serendipity Orchids, and they are:

• Bulbophyllum guttulatum
• Cirrhopetalum picturatum
• Scaphosepalum lima

All 3 arrived bare-root, so they were potted up as follows: the Scaphosepalum lima has been potted up in a 1:1 mix of  sphagnum & vermiculite, while both the Bulbophyllum and the Cirrhopetalum are both in baskets in a mix of medium size milled bark and sphagnum.

This afternoon I mounted/repotted the following plants:

• Aerangis fuscata – new plant from 2009-08-01 – mounted on cork
• Aerangis hyaloides – new plant from 2009-08-01 – mounted on driftwood
• Bulbophyllum (NoID) – plant was bare-root, now in pot with sphagnum
• Laelia bradei – mounted on cork
• Polystachya victoriae – new plant from 2009-08-01 – mounted on cork
• Rossioglossum grande – repotted into bark/vermiculite mix
